Here are some Christmas Cards I made for a class at the library last week (the first 3). Above I used Jingle paper, Evergreen stamp set and a pattern from the Card How - To Book from CTMH called Originals. All of Close to my Heart's How to books are so easy to use and are filled with 100 patterns that you can use many different ways. They all contain beautiful artwork and I find myself turning to them for inspiration on a weekly basis! I used Liquid Glass to add some dimension to the star and the Christmas decorations! Liquid glass is so fun to use, because it adds so much for so little effort and cost!
The Aspen paper is one of my top 5 favorite paper packs right now! All I did to this card was glue down the patterned paper, stamp my sentiment using the Card Chatter-Christmas stamp, and adhered 3 snowflakes I punched out. I know, the patterned paper makes it look like I worked hard..........So quick and easy!
Here, I used the Jingle paper pack again, the Card Chatter-Christmas stamp set and added some Liquid glass and some prisma glitter, oh and some embroidery floss for the ornament. I cut out the ornament with my Cricuit.

I made a fourth card, just because I had some left over circles from the cutouts of the ornament that my Cricuit made.....this idea popped into my head to use them for ornaments. So, I free hand cut out some trees and tree trunks from my scrap pile added some ribbon and a sentiment and Wah La! another card is made.

The card class at the library went well! I had nine ladies come and only 2 had ever scrapbooked or stamped before! I enjoyed teaching everyone about my LOVE of paper crafting! Julie (my newest downline and friend) came to help me teach the ladies. She did a great job and helped me out tremendously! She is on her way to great things with Close to my Heart! Learn more about the CTMH opportunity on my website!
Yesterday was my first ever kids' class. We made a squash book and an ornament. I had 3 in the morning, Mandy's children Caroline and Gavin and my neighbor McKayla. In the afternoon my girlfriend came with Aiden and Claire (they usually play with my kids while we scrapbook). They played and had fun making their projects!
Well, I'd better be getting to bed, it's off to work at my "real" job bright and early in the am!!!!
I'll try to post some more Christmas projects I have been working on, later this week! This is gonna be a busy one! I have two Christmas dinners to go to (still gotta make the exchange gifts for those! I am such a procrastinator!), take the kids to go see Santa, pick up a few more gifts that are left on my Christmas list, Scrapbook date with Missy, meeting at work on Weds and work on Mon and Tues. Somewhere in there I gotta fit in the wrapping of gifts too and mailing out my Christmas cards!! Can't believe Christmas is only 12 days away!!
Enjoy the Christmas Spirit!
Until next time...

Here's Mitch on his first day of preschool! I can't believe how fast these first four years have flown by!! He LOVES school and is learning so much! I cannot believe that this time next year they plan on having him reading.........REALLY they learn how to read before Christmas when they are in Kindergarten now? Man it seems so crazy that all the stuff we learned when we went to Kindergarten, our kids have to learn before they even get there!! I am just glad he enjoys it. He has a super nice teacher, Mrs. Jenkins, she's wonderful! Even though my little boy is growing up fast, right before my eyes, he still likes to sit on my lap sometimes just to cuddle!! Love him!

The summer sure flew by......every chance the kids got they swam (if you can call it that) and played in the little wading pool we had. They loved it and it kept them cool. This was one of the last hot days we had in August. They are enjoying their pudding pops! Now since the weather changed we are on a hot chocolate kick, we've been through 2 boxes already!! I have wonderful memories growing up drinking hot chocolate with my brother and sisters after we had been out playing in the snow. Of course we have to put some mini marshmallows on top too.......or "marshlows" like my son would say! :-)

Well, I don't have any pictures of projects to post right now, so that's it for now. I gotta get up early so I can get my Christmas shopping started tomorrow. My mom, sister and I have a tradition, we go the day BEFORE Thanksgiving, instead of fighting the crowds the day after!! Hopefully we all find some good deals and get some of those names crossed off our lists!

Everyday Celebration Card Kit

This Card Kit is awesome!! The best thing about it is you can make it into a Scrapbook Kit too!! The kit comes with 4 - 12 X 12 patterned papers and 2 full sheets of cardstock (CS), an exclusive stamp set, a package of chocolate embellishments, chocolate ribbon, a full color Step by Step Instructional Guide, 16 card bases and envelopes, and even two small distressing inks! You will have everything you need to get what you see below (except clear acrylix blocks, if you don't already own them).

I loved these exclusive papers so much that I only made 1/2 of the cards so I would have enough to make these 2 pages. I had to add 2 sheets of Colonial White CS and about a half of a sheet of chocolate and half a sheet sweet leaf from my stash. I will be offering a FREE workshop in November for anyone who purchases this Everyday Celebration Kit from me, and I'll throw in those extra pieces of CS I was talking about when you attend! Come to my New Idea Book Extravaganza on Wed the 16th or the Make-up day on Sat the19th to see this kit for yourself!! Be sure to RSVP for some goodies!!
Here is a picture of the stamp set. It will be unavailable after Sept 30 th!! I love that bracket/flourish image!

Here is a pic of the card base, an envelope, the foam squares and the embellishments. The cards are sweet, they come with that diecut edge!! Who ever you make these cards for will surely think you are a professional!!! (they don't have to know you got a little help from Close to my Heart!!)!

The Instructional guide gives you step by step directions on how to cut your papers, where to glue them down, what to stamp and how to embellish.........Easy Peasy!! If you follow the directions you will make 16 cards (2 each of 8 designs)
Here are the first 4 designs: See the diecut edge on those cards and how the patterned paper "peeks" from the inside of the card to the front!!!
And the other 4 designs:

See on my sidebar, to the right how you can get one of your own Celebration Card Kits!

Well, August is here! Let's celebrate the end of the summer with a few bright and cheery pages!!! I think I will find some swimmin' pictures and title this layout "1, 2, 3 Jump"!!! I received these pages from a swap I was in a few months ago and decided to use it for this month's workshop! It uses the Animal Cookies Creative basics papers, some white grosgrain ribbon and the 2 is one of the new foam embellishments in the summer book (all CTMH products!). Designed and put together by fellow consultant, Tiffany Loveless.

Close ups

Card workshop $8
This card set includes 10 cards with matching envelopes and a cute clear box to store them in! These cards were super simple and very quick to make! I used the following stamps sets: Aspiration, Say it in Style and For Every Occasion. I added some sorbet and chocolate ribbon to decorate the box for a WOW presentation! Cards designed by fellow consultant Lisa Stenz. (Can you tell that I am VERY good at "following directions" aka: "copying" Ha ha! (Oh yeah and I had permission to copy all this artwork as long as I give the creator credit! I just LOVE CTMH and all of the awesome ideas at my fingertips from my fellow consultants!! I can't wait to make up some more of these card sets with different colors for Christmas gifts....they'll make GREAT exchange gifts and thank you gifts for teachers or babysitters!

Sorry, the pictures of these cards just don't do them justice! You defiitely have to see them to see how pretty they turned out, guess I should have taken the pictures inside with the flash instead; since the sun was going down!

Scrapbook Pages for Mindy

Here are 8 pages that I put together using some patterns from the Close to my Heart How to Book, Reflections. It only took me two hours! A fellow consultant shared a template she made to get the most out of your paper. It uses a combination of 7 pieces of patterned paper, 4 pieces of colored cardstock and 8 pieces of white cardstock for the bases, with only a few scraps leftover. The template for these layouts was put together by Pam Wallace. It was so simple and quick!
I used paper I already had. I used My Mind's Eye (MME) papers, since I have alot of those and the cardstock is unknown (I've had it for a while!) I love how these pages turned out! I am going to send all these to Mindy (the fellow CTMH consultant who I wrote about last week, she is making a book for who cousin who's 2 year old son passed away in June).
In the MME paper pack there are two of each pattern paper, so I am definitely gonna make these pages up again! I can so see pix of Mitch playing with his trucks and tractors on them!

Yesterday I stamped some images for Mindy to add to the pages. I used all my CTMH stamps and did trucks, a frog and little boy sayings. I didn't attach them to the layouts though, so she would have more options when attaching her pictures! I hope she posts her album after she gets it finished! I would love to see what she came up with!

Thanks for looking!
Kim

Wow where did the last 4 days go? I have to go back to work already tomorrow! Today, Mitch had another follow up Xray on his arm, hopefully it can come off next week. I expect the Dr office to call on Monday since they did not leave a message this afternoon! We got groceries after the Xray and the kids were happy to eat at McDonald's too! Mitch's tennis shoes are getting small, so we stopped at the Shoe Dept in St Mary's and found a new pair. Oh my goodness, I think Kailyn was in heaven! I think she tried on almost every shoe she could reach! Hopefully the displays were not messed up too much as I tried to put all the shoes back where she got them from! She was so cute, every time I looked up she was trying out a new shoe! We got a pool and a slip N slide at Walmart! I put the pool on the East side of the house where the cistern is, just enough cement to sit it on, don't have to worry about killing the grass that we do have! The kids had a blast playing in it even though it was ice cold! I got part of the yard mowed while they did that. I am hoping for hot, sunny weather next week when I am off work to try out the slip N slide! After I put the kids to bed I worked on some layouts. In about 2 hours I was able to make 8 pages and they turned out so nice! I made them to send to a fellow CTMH consultant, Mindy. She is making a scrapbook for her cousin who's 2 year old twin son died in a tragic accident a few weeks ago. The little boy's mother (Mindy's cousin) was moving her vehicle forward and did not know he was there, in front of her vehicle! This story just makes me cringe, cry and feel so sad all at the same time! My children are 4 and 2 and I cannot even imagine the huge hole that must be in that mother's heart and the grief the whole family must feel!! Well, Mindy asked her fellow consultants for help in getting this book done by the middle of August, so I am going to send these pages to her so she can add her pictures and embellishments! I cannot wait to see how this finished book will turn out! I know this little boy's family will enjoy seeing many beautiful scrapbooked pictures of his 2 years of life........even though it will be bittersweet! Well, I will try to post pictures of these layouts as soon as I can. I also have my July Card Workshop cards done, I just need to photograph them and get them posted as well!

I think that's all I have for now, give your kiddos an extra hug and kiss today! (That reminds me of something Mitch does! Some days he will just randomly say "Mommy?" and he waits till I respond, and he insists that I respond or at least look at him and he says, "I love you" and then puckers up his little lips for a kiss and puts his arms out for a hug! He did this at Walmart today, so I got some extra hugs and kisses from my kiddos today! Cause Kailyn insisted on some kisses and hugs too!)

Have a great weekend!

Christmas in a box Workshop

Saturday, July 18th
2-4 pm
Register no later than, Friday the 10th
Cost $25, discounted to $18 with a $25 order
Bring: adhesive, scissors, glue dots

I had alot of fun putting this box together! I am going to store all my Christmas cards I make throughout the year, so they are all in one place when I go to send them out! I may even make a second box to save my favorite received cards! (all supplies from Close to my Heart!) I used several stamp sets including the July Stamp of the Month (You've got Flair), it made cute corner designs. I also used some buttons, ribbon and the Evensong paper kit!
Here are some picutres of the front of the box. It has a magnetic closure and opens and closes easily! At my workshop we will make 6 cards (2 each of 3 designs). We will also make some tags!

Card design #1

Card design #2

Card design #3

Workshop BONUS Card: Circle cards are all the rage right now, so I decided to try one! You just fold your piece of cardstock in half, then cut your circle out leaving part of the fold. I received my silver embossing powder this week and had a chance to use it on this card last night. I have been wanting to use the July Stamp of the month with silver, it looks like a snowflake to me! I wanted to keep it simple (which is a challenge for me! I have so many ideas in my head, I want to use them all. Sometimes I have to make myself stop, so I can go to bed!) so I only used cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed viewing my art as much as I enjoyed putting it together! Come back soon! I am busy putting together the upcomping Christmas card workshop! I am also in the process of making a Baseball scrapbook! For those of you that do not know, my Mother and Father in law are sponsering one of the Mariner baseball players this summer! His name is Jeff. He is staying for a few months while playing some baseball and will be here till the end of July! Kathy (my MIL) asked me to make him a book of his games and all the fun things he has done while here!
So, of course I said I would love to do that! I wish I had started cutting the paper already tonight.....but Kailyn took alot longer to get to sleep than I thought! Both the kids were so worn out from swimming all afternoon at moms!

Later,
Kim

Christmas in July!!!

Here's my scrapbook workshop for next week!

I have great plans for July! The scrapbook workshop pictured above, as well as Christmas in a box with an all day FREE crop and last but not least a Christmas Card class. You can view my calendar at the bottom of my blog for details! My scrapbook workshop is on Thursday, July 9th. I will help you make a 2 page layout for only $5.

I have been MIA on my blog for about a month now! Sorry I haven't posted for awhile! I forgot how busy the summer can be........there's always the yard to mow, weeds to pull, some playing outside with the kids, some water to be played in and there's always some fun places to go too! (and oh yeah some trips to the ER and the Dr too! Mitch broke his wrist 2 weeks ago! He is doing good now and we go back for another xray in a couple of weeks and they might be able to take it off then! Thank goodness for the plastic cast cover my mom got at the pharmacy and dropped off......it makes bath time so much easier and he can even swim with it on {even though the directions say not to} it keeps his cast dry, so that's good enought for me!)

So needless to say, I haven't gotten much scrappin time in for the month of June either! I have also been working on rearranging my laundry room. It has been the catch-all room since we moved two years ago! And I keep everything.....got that honest from my Dad! So I have been cleaning and throwing away, it's just been a slow process. I need to put up a shelf and move a huge TV that no longer works! It's been sitting there for over a year since it died! What do you do with an old TV? My hubby has been busy farming.......I haven't seen much of him the past 3 days, he's been working on the combine getting ready to cut wheat....so no one to help hang the shelf! Such is life! Anyway, to get back to my point......I am cleaning the laundry room and the huge closet in there so I can move some of my less used kitchen stuff in to make room for my scrapbook supplies!!! I cleared out the bottom shelf of my china cabinet to make room for scrapbook paper! I am working on getting a spot cleared for a book shelf in my corner of the kitchen too! It will be so nice when it is done! Hopefully tomrrow when I get home from work and get the kids to bed, I will have time to work on some more projects to post for you!

Good night and have a happy 4th!

Kim

Graduation Time is Here!

Life has been busy as usual! We have been loving this weather! The kids have been outside almost every waking moment I will allow them. They already have their summer tans started!

I have been working on graduation cards. We have 6 graduates this year. Chris' cousins and our neghbor girl. On her card above, I used CTMH Boom Di Ada papers, and the card commentary stamp. On the inside I used the Iam set from the Tickled Pink Kit and express postage.

Here is Patrick's card. I used some extra paper I've had laying around along
with my CTMH stamps; I'm not sure of the manufacturer of these papers is. I've had them for a while! I used Vintage USA and card comentary stamp sets . The CTMH ink colors sunflower, holiday red, dutch blue and clover meadow matched these papers pretty good. I also tied a piece of sunflower waxy flax to the holiday red star and mounted the star with a foam square. Below is the inside of his card, where I used the star from the vintage USA set again and the words from the express postage set. I also used the CTMH Originals Card Confidence book for all my card patterns. I had so much fun playing with my stamps, I hope you enjoy looking!
